OVERVIEW
Mastering Audio Examples

Mastering Service - Mastering is the final stage of the recording process where the tonal balances and volume levels of a collection of stereo mixes of songs are raised up to commercially consistent and accepted levels. The mastering process can also influence problematic muddy and/or harsh fequencies of a mix, increase defintion and punch, depth and fullness. With this service, the final mastered mixes are provided on a Red Book standard audio CD along with a PQ code printout (information used by CD duplication facilities). Mastering service details are in the following section. Price: $30 per song*

Mixing Audio Examples

Mixing Service - While the mastering process can alter the overall dynamic and tonal balances of a stereo recording, a stereo mix of music is actually a very limited format for an engineer to work with - when compared to the amount, and quality, of enhancing - creative -corrective options available while mixing a multitrack recording of the same music.

band's mix H&R mixing

For one example, if the stereo mix has a bass guitar with a problematic frequency, the mastering engineer will end up cutting some of the low end punch frequencies from the kick drum when they subtract the problematic bass guitar frequencies from the stereo mix during the mastering process. It makes much more sense, not to mention creates a better result, to address the problematic bass guitar frequencies with the right equalizer and settings on the bass guitar track itself during the mixdown.

This is what our mixing service is all about: get the mix right first, then proceed to get that mix mastered at the mastering facility of your choice-(hopefully you will consider us!). With our mixing service, an experienced professional with the knack and an objective ear, will mix your multi-track recordings using the right combinations of analog and digital gear to: equalize, compress, set levels, pan, subgroup, effect, and all of the other things that go into making a great mix. For more information, see the Mixing Details section below. Price: $75 per song*
