Features of Hit and Run Recording
Multiple monitoring systems
The best of analog and digital audio recording.
Hit and Run Recording is a rock solid studio that combines the latest digital technology and the best of analog gear with a "feel at home", easy going and creative atmosphere.
Hear your tracks through top of the line (time-aligned and ribbon) studio monitors for accuracy as well as "home" and "car" style speakers to check out how the mix will sound in the "real world".
Spacious, professionally designed rooms designed to record full bands.
The layout and acoustical design of Hit and Run Recording allows for a band to set up as they would for a show or band practice while at the same time, achieves a recording that has all of the good qualities of a professional studio recording combined with the live energy intensity of a group playing together all at once. Four independent headphone mixes allow the musicians to monitor the other players clearly.

During most sessions at Hit and Run Recording, the majority of groups over dub their vocals (so that there is less "bleed" of other louder signals into the vocal mics), but to give you an idea of the professional sound quality of a full band recording all at the same time, listen to "Go Go Audio Clip #1" on the Audio - Gallery page, where the five vocalists were situated in the 150 sq.foot vocal booth and recorded at the same time with the band. Another audio example where the vocals were recorded at the same time with the full band is the "Alt. Acoustic" band sound clip on the Audio - Gallery page. Both recordings sound clear, well defined and have a "radio" professional quality.

This Helmholtz resonator wall is two feet deep, 20 feet long, and helps control low end rumble so that it doesn't end up being recorded.

An experienced engineer and producer are essential ingredients.
While the hourly rate is an important factor when deciding on where to record or mix and master your project, the other half of the recording budget equation is the time or speed in which the recording process is carried out. Engineer Steve Carr is known for his engineering, editing, experience-skills, musical ear, easy going manner, conscientious attitude, and ability to creatively control the technology, all of which combine to achieve the artist's recording goals in an efficient manner. and coproducer if the artist wants production assistance
